OUR CLIMATE STRATEGY
Real reduction of emissions instead of compensation
ROWE has been actively involved in climate protection for many years out of the deepest conviction and is driving forward the issue of sustainability in a variety of ways. The realignment of our climate strategy is a key step in our further development, which we would like to inform you about:
We are convinced that emissions cannot be reduced by outsourcing, offsetting or certificates, but only through targeted and concrete measures. That is why we have said goodbye to all climate labels and offsetting projects as of April 30, 2025. Instead, ROWE is using a clear CO₂ reduction plan to start there where emissions are generated: in our plants, along our supply chain and in our products. Energy efficiency, renewable energies and more sustainable products for your portfolio play a central role here.
You need solutions that work in the long term!
VISIBLE SUCCESSES
ALREADY NOW
Since 2020, we have already reduced our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by over 40% at our two production plants in Worms and Bubenheim. By 2030, we want to reduce the rest by at least 90% with our own measures. We want to reduce indirect emissions (Scope 3.1) in our supply chain by 10% in the same period through sustainable purchasing decisions.
„CO₂-COMPENSATED“-LOGO
DISAPPEARS
Our new course is also visible on our products:
the “CO₂-compensated” logo is disappearing from all our containers.
To conserve resources, existing containers are still being sold off. Items with and without the CO₂-logo will therefore be in circulation for a transitional period.

Until now
from now on
UPCOMING EU REQUIREMENTS
ARE MET
Our measures not only benefit the environment, but also you. When we and our lubricants become more sustainable, this has a positive effect on your carbon footprint and your supply chain. ROWE products not only stand for high performance, but also for an ambitious emissions reduction plan. In addition, our new strategy means that we already meet the upcoming EU requirements (Green Claims Directive and EmpCo Directive), so that you are already prepared for these challenges with us.
Do you have any questions or would you like to talk to us about specific requirements for more sustainable products or processes?
