ROWE is preparing to meet EmpCo requirements

With the EmpCo Directive, the European Union is setting new standards in environmental and sustainability communication. ROWE is leading by example and has taken timely steps to ensure EmpCo compliance.

On September 27, 2026, the EU directive “Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition” (EmpCo) will take effect. It introduces stricter requirements across Europe for communicating environmental and sustainability claims and is intended to protect consumers from misleading environmental claims.

Early Preparation for the New Requirements

ROWE addressed the provisions of the EmpCo Directive at an early stage and implemented comprehensive measures to meet the new requirements. In doing so, the focus was particularly on transparent, traceable, and legally compliant communication. All relevant content was reviewed accordingly to ensure compliance with future legal requirements.

Updating the Website and Marketing Materials

An important part of the implementation involves all promotional materials, brochures, product information, and digital content. Materials such as the SUNSPEED and Additiv product brochures, as well as the general catalog, were already available in updated editions at Automechanika.

The new legal requirements underscore the importance of transparency and traceability in sustainability communication. For ROWE, these principles have been an integral part of responsible business practices for many years. By implementing these requirements early on, we ensure that our customers can rely on legally compliant and up-to-date materials in their day-to-day operations without having to grapple with the details of the new requirements themselves. The focus remains on our core business.
