Thanks to a wide range of viscosities for passenger cars, we are able to offer a sustainable alternative lubricant for all.

In the future, we plan to offer a SUNSPEED® variant for a large number of our conventional motor oils. These will be manufactured at the main plant in Worms, one of the most cutting-edge lubricant factories in Europe.

ROWE SUNSPEED® contains absolutely no mineral oils. The base oils, normally manufactured from fossil resources, are derived 100 % from biomass. This means they are purely plant-based, are renewable and need only nutrients, water and sunlight.
The synthetic base oil uses vegetable fat obtained from biomass. Using energy from the sun, CO₂ from the air and nutrients from the soil are converted into these fats by plants. The highest concentrations of the fats are found in the seeds and the fruit pulp of the plants and it is from these that the fats are extracted and refined into vegetable oils.
Initially, ROWE SUNSPEED® is available in 7 different viscosities and the plan is to offer a ROWE SUNSPEED® variant for a large number of conventional ROWE motor oils.
The technology is still very new and there are only a few manufacturers of motor oil based on 100% vegetable base oils. Nevertheless, two of our ROWE SUNSPEED TRUCKSTAR products received manufacturer approval from DEUTZ AG (DQC IV-18 LA) in June 2025, one of the world's leading engine manufacturers for vehicles and machinery in the agricultural, construction, and off-highway sectors.
